MONDAY - July 22 -- South Dakota to Nebraska

A little overnight thunderstorm - a wonderful breakfast at our B & B...

and then off to the Wilder Memorial Center & Gift Shop.
Check out the size of the school that Laura Ingalls Wilder taught in at Brewster.

Then on to the Anne Hathaway Cottage in the tiny South Dakota town of Wessington Springs! We arrived just in time to get a private tour by one of the key leaders to rescue this little treasure.
The site had once been a Free Methodist university which closed in the 1960s.  The house was actually one that was home to college presidents and faculty at one time.  Mrs. Shay had traveled to England to research the Anne Hathaway cottage and begin a Shakespeare Garden.
Shakespeare Gardens are gardens that only contain plants that are mentioned in the works of the Bard himself. What beautiful gardens - will share more photos later. Then it was on to Nebraska where we stayed at Valentine at the Raine Motel.  (Yes, it did rain while we were there!)
This old Ford was parked just a couple slots down from us!
